Awards

1st place value voucher, CHF 50.
2nd place value voucher, CHF 30.-

Aletsch Sprint per category   
1st place value voucher, CHF 50.-
2nd place value voucher, CHF 30.-
3rd place value voucher, CHF 20.-

Team: Attractive prizes will be raffled among the teams.
 

Changing rooms / showers

Before the start, runners can use the separate changing rooms for boys and girls at the start line by the upper station of the Bettmeralp aerial cable car. After the race, there is a shower tent at the tennis hall in the Bachtla Sports Centre. Mirrors and hairdryers are available in the cloakrooms. The shower facility will be closed at 3pm.

Entertainment

The entertainment programme and catering start at 3.30pm at the sports centre.

This is located at the Bettmeralp-Bahnen mountain station (starting zone).

Entry fee

All entry fees for Aletsch Saturday Races:

  • Gletschilauf: free
  • Aletsch Minilauf: free
  • Aletsch Sprint: CHF 20.-

Your race bib counts as a ticket for a single downhill journey with the gondola. For runners that have registered for an SBB Swiss Runners Ticket, travelling on the aerial cable cars is free of charge anyway. If you do not take part in the race despite having registered, you are not entitled to a refund of the entry fee.  

Finish

The finish for all Saturday races is at the Bachtla Sports Centre in Bettmeralp.

First-aid service

A first-aid service is provided by the local Samaritan Association in Betten-Bettmeralp at the start and finish line. In emergencies, the nearest route marshal must be informed immediately.

This is located in the upper station of the Bettmeralp aerial cable car (start line).

Insurance

The organisers aim to offer the runners ideal conditions on the route. However, please note that the Aletsch Half-Marathon and the Aletsch Saturday Races take place on alpine terrain. So please make sure you have sufficient insurance cover! Every participant needs to arrange their own insurance cover. The event organiser shall not assume any liability. When you register, you confirm that you have sufficient insurance cover and have had sufficient training for the run. Important: for reasons of safety and sporting fairness, you are not allowed to leave the predetermined running route.

Personal data/pictures

In registering for Gletschilauf, Aletsch Minilauf and Aletsch Sprint, runners agree that films, photos and interviews can be made during the event without any entitlement to remuneration. The personal data of the runners can be used for marketing purposes and also passed on to third parties. At the same time, the event organiser undertakes to only process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Data Protection Act.

Price ceremony

The prize ceremony takes place at 4.00pm at the Bachtla Sports Centre. Every participant who reaches the finishing line receives an award. The first three to finish in each running category receive a special prize. Runners who do not attend the award ceremony in person forfeit their right to a prize.

Race bib distribution

As a participant in the Aletsch Half-Marathon, you can collect your race bib on the day before the race. Otherwise, the race bibs for all categories can be collected on the morning of the race. The distribution point is located at the upper station of the Bettmeralp aerial cable car.

Rankings

Rankings will be published on this website and www.datasport.com directly after the race.
Rankings will not be sent out by post.

Registration

Online or on site

Late registrations after the above dates are only possible on the race day at 1pm

Start

The starting zone for the Junior, Gletschilauf and Aletsch Sprint categories is located at the mountain station of the Betten-Bettmeralp cable car.

The starting zone for the mother/father-and-child race is on Bettmeralp village square.

Timekeeping

The company responsible for timekeeping is Datasport. The running time is recorded by a timing chip. This means that the time starts to run for each participant as soon as he or she passes the start line and ends on crossing the finish line. 

Toilets

Toilets are available at the start line, all along the start zone, and at the finish line.

Valuables

Valuables can be deposited before the start at the luggage storage office in the goods shed (upper station of the Bettmeralp aerial cable car) and collected from the finish tent on the Bettmerhorn (max. 1 C3 envelope).
